With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, more people will gain healthcare coverage through expanded Medicaid (in applicable States), and private health insurance. In addition, more HIV prevention services have become covered benefits. CBA@JSI has created webinars and tools to assist community-based organizations (CBO) providing HIV prevention services to conduct a cost analysis and understand the steps involved in transitioning to billing for services. The Region I STD Related Reproductive Health Training and Technical Assistance Center (STD TAC) is a training and TA center funded by CDC to improve sustainability of state STD programs and clinics, and public health labs providing STD testing services. The website features many resources including an extensive Billing Toolkit that addresses third party billing and can help organizations make decisions about whether to bill, and how to develop billing systems, manage revenue cycles, initiate contracts, and enhance coding capacity.
